The Chemical Kinship of Stony Entities
£20.00
16pp A4 booklet, written to accompany the installation, In the debris of planets, written by Julie F Hill and Dr Valerie Olson
A text that thinks through the kinship of non-living, stony entities, with a focus on asteroids, moons and their regoliths. The text centres on the idea of the grain being the individual unit (or ego) – which exists in genealogies/ancestries of Strata. Sticking and Impacting are the two principal means of relations for stony entities. A new edition was released in 2025 with the chapter ‘Dissolving’ that considers water as a means for stony entities to form new chemistries and make new affinities.
